However, there are areas of deprivation in the borough such as St.Helier, Roundshaw, Shanklin, Benhill and Durand estates. People in other more affluent areas can also fall into crises where they need emergency help.

As an example, eligibility for free school meals in more affluent areas of the borough is around 2% whereas schools in more deprived areas have an eligibility of 50%.
